Everybody likes music, regardless. Music is what connects us to memories and places and even people. It comes in many genres, one I appreciate is indie. Indie music is like the modern sixties, except each band has their own twist. It’s beautiful and the lyrics are breath taking with a lot of heart and soul. Indie music has a cool vibe and is open to everyone. The bittersweet thing about indie music is that many of the bands don’t get famous, and the ones who do turn mainstream. Mumford and Sons, FUN, and Ed Sheeran are just a few too name. You kinda get that chilled, good life feeling when listening to them. Their lyrics are catchy and they’re not too graphic as some rap songs. Another thing about indie music is that many of the bands write their own songs which leads to a raw and emotional song. When artists put emotions into songs it makes it more meaningful to the listener. It makes us feel like they know exactly what we’ve gone through or are going through. The emotions consume us and just like that we have a voice for ourselves, even if we are silent. I’m not saying by any means that any other genres aren’t like that because I’m sure they are. It’s just Indie music isn’t well known and many people aren’t interested in non-mainstream bands or genres. So, if you ever feel like what’s on the radio isn’t enough, check out some indie bands:
NeverShoutNever- Christofer Drew, he writes a lot about life and love and good times. He’s 20, so his songs relate more to the younger generation and the feelings/emotions we face in today’s society.
Mumford and Sons- A English band who’s most known for the song ‘Little Lion Man’. That is a very good song and portrays a lot about their album. They’re album consists of songs of love, life, mistreatment, and other good stuff. It includes a lot of ‘English’ terms, which makes each song sound like literature.
