I attended a concert for Ariana Grande on March 3rd at Allstate Arena and it was for sure an unforgettable night. The venue was just the right size and the sounding was perfect. A special guest, Cashmere Cat, made an appearance and got the crowd warmed up for the main event. He released a song the night before with Ariana called “Adore”, and at the concert, she surprised us and performed the song with him live for the first time. Rixton, a band from the UK, was another opener and they performed a few tracks from their newest album, Let the Road, along with other covers as well.
The set list consisted of tracks from her newest album, My Everything, a few from her previous album, a throwback song of hers, and a cover. The songs “Right There”, “Tattooed Heart”, and “The Way” were played from her album, Yours Truly, and she sang one of her first songs ever, “Pink Champaign”. She also performed a cover of “All My Love” by Major Lazer.
Special moments included backup dancers shooting out from under the stage and Ariana performing on a huge cloud and chandelier. Ariana wore her traditional cat ears and made a few outfit changes throughout the night. Her and her dancers’ moves were sassy and filled with gratitude, as always. Later on, the crowd grew silent when an audio clip of her recently passed grandfather began to play. Right after, she sang her song “My Everything” and sat on a piano as she made a very special tribute to her loving grandpa.
Apparently the people around me were not as excited to see a celebrity as my best friend and I were because they barely danced or showed any emotion. My friend and I did not care what people thought of us and we danced, sang, and screamed our hearts out. We did not pay them no mind when they looked at us like we were crazy.
Grande’s overall concert was phenomenal and never had a dull moment. Everything was so colorful and fun, I never wanted it to end. Sadly, the show came to an end and she chose her #1 hit, “Problem”, for her finale. This was my second time seeing Ariana and I would definitely consider seeing her again because she truly knows how to leave her fans with special memories.
