The Visit Review (Movie 2015)
September 17, 2015
The Visit is a 2015 found footage horror movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan who also directed the critical acclaimed movie The Sixth Sense. M. Night is known for his shocking movie twist. Night has also redeemed himself after The Last Airbender After Earth.
The movie centers on a brother and sister who go to spend a week with their grandparents for the first time while their mother is away. Being warned not to come out of their rooms after their bedtime of 9:30pm, their curiosity gets the best of them and discover something is off with their grandparents’ strange behavior.
The movie takes place on a country farm in Pennsylvania and stars Ed Oxenbould and Olivia DeJonge. This film is the cliché found footage movie, but still different from others out there and it has a good reason for it to be found footage. As the grandparents’ behavior becomes stranger, Becca, directing a documentary for school, her film turns into an investigation which also turns out to be the same as the movie itself. The movie has quite a bit of humor and a few jump scares. I can say that this movie had a good twist to it, maybe not as good as The Sixth Sense, but still good and shocking. The movie starts out as creepy and stays that way throughout the whole movie. But overall, I’d recommend this to anyone who likes a good scare.
The movie is rated PG-13 and came out in theaters September 11, 2015.
