The game is based on an action role playing game for the PlayStation 3, 4 and Vita based on the Sword Art Online Novel series. It is the third video game in the series and is the successor to Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. The game’s story follows series protagonist Kirito and his friends as they play the Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called ALfheim Online, as you go on quests to defeat bosses in dungeons, rescue missions, and above all duel. The game introduces a guild named Shamrock, who Kirito competes against to be the first to clear ALfheim.

Fans last enjoyed Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment where it resided in strictly only being the protagonist Kirito, while now in Lost Song it is the first game in the series that allows you to play as other characters. There are 19 characters available to play as, though two are attainable through downloadable content only. Additionally, players can create their own characters, which can be used in the game’s story mode, though the story will progress as if the player had been Kirito. Besides the new playable characters feature, the game also has multiplayer, allowing players to engage in player vs. player duels. Online capability is also available in the game, with a lobby featuring up to 16 players, which can be split into four-person parties on quests. Four-player groups can also participate in player vs. player as 4 vs 4 battles. Whether you like sword fighting, martial arts, boxing, or even just using magic spells, this game is for you. Check it out!
