Many Star Wars fans have been looking forward to the release of the Ahsoka series as it should answer some questions about what happened to the padawan and the aftermath of Order 66. The series was released in August of 2023 and follows Anakin’s former padwan, Ahsoka Tano, as she investigates a new threat against the galaxy. As with most of the Star Wars franchise, this series was very action-focused and battle-heavy, with the iconic lightsabers returning.
While this show was anticipated by many, it wasn’t seen as the best Star Wars installment with only having 86% on rotten tomatoes and receiving a 7.6/10 on IMDb. The series is only one season long, with little talk of continuing the series. Each episode is around 45 minutes long with eight episodes and altogether has a watch time of around six hours.
Ahsoka takes place after the return of the Jedi and is also supposed to be a continuation of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Ahsoka was created for the animated series The Clone Wars and made her live-action debut in the new Mandalorian TV show as well. While the show was announced in December 2020, filming didn’t start until May 2022, after multiple characters from Rebels were announced. Actress Rosario Dawson plays Ahsoka and the show was directed by Dave Filoni. While you don’t have to be knowledgeable about Star Wars, it is highly recommended that you have watched the rest of the Star Wars films.
