This was an exciting new twist compared to the first Beetlejuice movie. It had action and a lot of comedic moments. This new film by Tim Burton really shows his growth within film making throughout the years. A great touch is how Tim shows the updated life of Lydia Deetz (played by Winona Ryder) and the rest of the family and the new addition of Lydia’s teenage daughter Astrid (played by Jenna Ortega). I highly recommend going to see this movie in theaters. Great to go with a group of friends. All of my friends said that this was one of their new favorite Tim Burton movies. This film was a great picture of hints of Tim’s movie style. There was amazing attention to detail with the costumes and makeup; especially, with the costumes for Winona Ryder with the dark gothic assets and her famous red wedding dress. Even the makeup of Beetlejuice (played by Michael Keaton) looked reinvented with his costume and the attention to his hair and how perfectly blended the makeup looked so real as if he didn’t even have any on. Also the attention to the slight horror the blood even looked so real, and the animation as always looked so good and well done along with the camera and photoshop. Even the music choices were just on point with the story and the funny little hauntings from beetlejuice controlling people and making them sing and dance just like from the first film. Overall, this new movie was a great revamp of Tim Burton’s work.
