Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday of November. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in November of 1621 by the pilgrims in the New World. The feast lasted 3 days. It was attended by 53 survivors of the Mayflower and 90 native americans. The first religious Thanksgiving was recorded 2 years after the first Thanksgiving in 1623. Pilgrims and Native Americans made an alliance for a time, but years before that was followed by the arrival of the people of Mayflower, which led to mass killings of native americans, they seized their land and enslaved Native Americans during the 17th century. This holiday is about being grateful for the things we have, the people in our lives, and life in general. We honor the blessings of our country and appreciate what we have. Thanksgiving is celebrated by gathering their loved ones and your family and celebrating the love that they share. The most important tradition of Thanksgiving is having a big meal with our loved ones. The most known foods of this holiday are roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. Thanksgiving is just being grateful for life and what we are thankful for in the past year. Our family, friends, the things we have, and the people we have in our lives are what we all should already be grateful for but this holiday makes it more important and makes people realize what we truly are and should be thankful for.
