With the holiday season; comes many different ways and experiences for festivities to be witnessed and shared. Illinois is a hotspot for many events as a celebration and opportunity for people to witness holiday festivities in light shows. These festive events will be held in many different venues around Illinois. The Festival of Lights will be held at Phillips Park Zoo from 5 to 9 p
.m. The event, consisting of a drive-through light show, will come with free admission to the zoo. Naper Lights, a festival held in Naperville, IL; has free admission from 4 to 10 p.m. and ends the showing on Water Street Downtown on January 1st. Other showings will be at Lincoln Park Zoo until January 7th with a walk-in zoo experience and light festival with prices from $7 to $10 for admission. Illumination, a Festival of Lights experience in Morton Arboretum, consists of 50 acres of trees decorated with holiday lights, offering a walk of a mile past the colorfully decorated trees for $44 until January 6th. The Shine Light Show, another show, will be held at Wintrust Field until January 1st from 6 to 10 p.m. as a drive-through light show for an admission fee of $32.99. A local place to see the beautiful Christmas lights is ‘Christmas in the Commons’ in New Lenox. You and your families can Ice skate, get some food from the vendors out there, take pictures in the structures with lights, and enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa. With many colorful venues, the opportunity to experience festivities and light shows across Illinois is sure to bring a unique holiday experience to anyone before the end of the year.
