Valentine’s day is a special day for people around the globe to make each other feel loved. There is truly nothing more loving than taking time to make your own gifts instead of buying them. Personalized presents can hold a lot more meaning to some people than something store bought; here are some ideas.
One DIY gift you can make is a compliment jar. All you need is a mason jar with a lid and small pieces of paper. If you don’t have small pieces of paper just cut up a regular full white sheet of paper into small rectangles. Then take a writing utensil and write anything you want on it for them, whether it’s compliments, quotes that remind you of them or words of encouragement. This can be a gift the person can put on their desk or dresser and when they feel upset they can sift through the jar to pick out a paper to read it to brighten up their mood.
But if you want to make something that the person can wear around, make them bracelets for you and them to match. All you need is some stretchy elastic cord and beads of any color or design. Then cut the elastic cord to fit the wrist of your person and thread the beads in the order you desire. When you’re done take both ends and tie a knot to hold the bracelet together.
However, if your partner is one that likes to hold onto past memories a scrapbook may be good for them. All you have to do is get a blank journal and pick your favorite pictures of you together. Take these pictures and glue them into the journal pages and write little titles underneath them. Then decorate the scrapbook however you please with stickers or markers.
