The Spirit Chair and Student Voice Chair have had a collaboration for Joliet Central’s Homecoming Spirit Week of 2024 taking place in the third week of October.
Spirit weeks have occurred in Joliet Township High School’s specifically to celebrate and bring together students for an upcoming event to let all participate and feel involved with their school’s pride. With Homecoming approaching, so does a spirit week.
As spirit week comes to view, some opinions and thoughts have been made for what is to come on Homecoming week. For example, the student council co-sponsor; Marissa Cantu, helped coordinate the discussion between the Spirit Chair and Student Voice Chair. Ms. Cantu had a positive view when she said “I feel good about the spirit week, especially since it was created by the students. Homecoming is an exciting time of the year, and I want it to be enjoyable for everyone.”
This upcoming spirit week is a great opportunity to spread throughout Joliet Township’s community on the nearing events as students are able to participate and join the school’s activities for the 2024 Homecoming. While students take part, so can staff on class colors day where everyone is to wear a certain color. For example, freshmen will wear green, sophomores will wear purple, juniors will wear blue, seniors will wear black, and staff will wear red.
Spirit weeks are held for students at schools to show the schools way of coming together and how involved their students are. More events are expected to come with the approaching spirit week. A pep rally will be prepared to honor the Homecoming Court and more activities will be done for the Joliet Township scholars as well as a parade.
In the end, students and staff will have the opportunity to participate and demonstrate Joliet Central’s unity as a school. Scholars are able to dress up in the designated theme if desired and can also just enjoy being a part of something. Going forward it is encouraged to join in the themes and enjoy Joliet Central’s 2024 Homecoming.
