TRIO Entrepreneurship & The Arts Event

The Trio Entrepreneurship & The Arts Event Center took place the day of October 17, 2024. This event was organized by [email protected], Uxmar, and the TRIO specialist. This event was at Joliet Central High School, taking place in the cafeteria. The main goal of this event was to help students see all the different options if they think college isn’t the right choice for them. It was all about inspiring them to turn interests and passions in other careers with TRIO providing useful information for careers and different paths for the students, giving them free space to reflect on what they enjoyed and consider interests translating into potential career paths. The organizers of this event were inspired by many students that had shown interest in careers in the arts, along with the goal of showing diverse paths for all students. One of the most outstanding activities that took place at this event was mainly the panel discussion with a professional diverse group, Dj’s, photographers, rappers, nonprofit funders, chefs, and clothing designers. This engagement of a panel allowed many students to hear firsthand about different careers available to them. All panelists shared their own experience, making students more interested in, and more inspired to have an opportunity to pursue and make new passions into viable careers. Not only did the panelists talk about careers, but they also talked about how to handle stress management, making new skills, balancing responsibilities, benefits, and building relationships throughout the run of careers, navigating life throughout teenage years. Overall this event gave a good advantage for teens to grow and develop their skills while engaging in clubs, and extracurricular activities can help. This event allowed students to impact many things such as exploring interest more deeply, encouraging them to find careers they are interested in and can grow a passion for.
