Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Central celebrates this year with a festive night of Trunk or Treat. Thanks to office secretary, Michelle Moore, and the staff members who helped host this event, students had a blast at this delicious event.
Hosted on October 23rd, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. Taking place on the main entrance roundabout. So why host such an event? Well, it was Ms. Moore’s idea, “I wanted a local event where kids can celebrate and safely enjoy this holiday”, inspired by celebrating this holiday where kids and students could locally and safely indulge. All of this was possible with principal Mr. Hallihan’s support and approval, Ms. Moores gathered help from clubs, security, and staff.
This is Joliet Central’s first-ever Trunk or Treat! The Steelman has never hosted a Trunk or Treat event before. There were stations for face painting, games like bean bag throwing, ring tosses, prizes, and candy to win.
This year, people enjoyed around 15 cars treating kids to candy, goodie bags, books, and fun! Cars were provided by amazing clubs and staff. The candy was funded by Mr. Hallihan and also donated from others! Over a dozen people showed up to this year’s exciting Trunk or Treat! By the end of the night Halloween candy perished. While this was a new event, many students are looking forward to next year! Safe to say, Central’s Halloween Trunk or Treat was a worthwhile event.
