The second portion was the announcing of awards to recognize the senior’s accomplishments, and the last part was the handing out of scholarships for those who qualified. The night began with ROTC Color Guard members bringing in the flags and four senior choir members: Zariya Butler, Shelby Fischer, Alex Kulak, and Marcos Mercado, singing the National Anthem. The passing down of the Student Council gavel from Breanah Ceranek, the President for 2015-2016, to next year’s Student Council president, Miryam Perez, took place after. Next, Principal Hallihan gave his speech and when the time came to introduce the passing down of the Besty Ross flag, he had to take a jog back to his office after forgetting the flag. He received applause when running down the aisle and when returning, while bringing laughter to the audience. Caprisha Neale was class of 2016 representative that passed the flag down to Abby Augustine, class of 2017 representative.
