Steelman Against Destructive Decisions

This school year, we were fortunate to have a new club added to the extracurricular activity list, the Youth Advisory Committee also known as the Steelmen Against Destructive Decisions. Steelmen Against Destructive Decisions is an in-and-out-of-school club created by Mrs.Cailteux, this club was created to have more inclusivity and involvement in outside and inside school activities, like comprehending ways to help take care of one’s body and others, understanding the body both mentally, and physically, informing more students about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, and followed with learning more about oneself. This club contains a variety of tasks for the members to follow, such as creating “Gratitude Jars’,’ which is where you write different things you are grateful for and put them all in a jar and when you feel down you take one out and read it, along with having the Will County Health Dep. coming and explaining to the student’s various things can affect your body’s health, helping create the Red Ribbon week list, these activities are all enjoyed with a nice snack on the side. Mrs.Cailteux has major plans coming up next school year like the new event “Foster Palooza,” this will be an event where foster kids will be able to come and receive haircuts, toys, and school supplies, where everybody will leave with a ton of unforgettable memories and fun! There is plenty of space for new members to join. If you’re a busy person where time management can be an issue for you, and would like to be more involved with your peers, school, and the community, this is for sure the club for you.
