On October 18, Joliet Central attendees were united to participate in 2024 Homecomings Pep Rally in the Main Gym. Pep Rallies are done for a certain upcoming event and season, and they take up about an hour of the school day. However, the 2024 Homecoming not only was a Pep Rally, but also a spirit week, the powder puff game, and a parade. During this time, many performances were shown such as the student choir singing the national anthem and the bands marching, Chi-City Tumblers trickshots, dances from both the Steelettes and the Dude Squad, as well as the cheerleaders cheer display. Gianna Arroyo, a student in Joliet Township said, “My favorite performance was the Ch-City Tumblers at the end, it was really cool to see the tricks they do.” As the Pep Rally came to a conclusion some scholars were able to leave with some designed t-shirts specifically for the event and to obtain one they would have to show off their excitement in the crowd. Gianna found the event successful as she said “I felt that the Pep Rally went well, it was really engaging and a fun time.” Which expressed her appreciation for the performances. The 2024 Homecoming Pep Rally was a success as it brought students and staff together to participate in honoring the school with cheering from the bleachers. From this it can be expected for scholars to have a great time during Homecoming and to enjoy the rest of their school year with fond memories.
