On August 30, 2024, Joliet Central’s human relations had its first meeting where new members and sponsors gathered to talk about activities, field trips, and electing officers. Human relations is sponsored by Ms. Dobersztyn and Ms. Luangsomkham. They invite students to explore all the cultures with them and to go on field trips with the elected president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and recruiter. This year’s elected officer is president Diana Mascote, co-secretary.
The club uses teamwork to pull everyone together while they explore new cultures and that is why, “I am proud of being a part of human relations,” Mrs Doberszytn says. “Students are fantastic and always ready to jump in for a service project to help out our community or our school.” This year, the club has a GREAT turnout of students which only makes hosting the club meetings and events even better. The club is still having upcoming meetings to discuss different topics so it’s fair to assume that human relations is going to continue striving for excellence and accomplishing the goals the club have set in place for this year.
Human relations is, as you can see, a way to explore all cultures and activities, telling you that this isn’t something that people should miss out today or in the near future.
