2024 Homecoming Dance

On October 19th, 2024, Joliet Central’s Homecoming dance was 6-9 P.M. and was hosted in the main gym on the first floor. The Homecoming court was announced for the class of 2025, along with the other class royalty being honored. This dance was a great kick off to the school year and a great high school experience for the freshmen to see into their future years as high schoolers. A freshman Steelman said, “I can’t wait for next year’s homecoming dance!”. It was a great night for friend groups or for any young couple to have a fun time together. It was the most fun to start hyping others up that were making mosh pits on the dance floor. With the flashing lights and the crowds of people, it was a successful turn out and most of everyone followed the theme of The Secret Garden like the beautiful light and flowers throughout the gym and school. Most of everyone was on the dance floor having a great time and hyping each other up, with the music from the DJ and with the Art club doing face paint and body art. A guest student said that they enjoyed Central’s homecoming more than their own but they said they still enjoyed theirs as well. The school provided water bottles and cookies for free and you could go to the concessions for other snacks but all were under 5 dollars each, you could also buy a flower crown for 2 dollars to give your formal wear more of a garden feel! After dancing for most of the night, you could sit down and rest, going up to the gym balcony. For a group of friends or for any young couple to have a fun time together, it was the most fun to start hyping others up that were partying on the dance floor. A great first dance to kick off this year!
