Powderpuff

Powderpuff is an annual event at Central that is hosted in which the girls play flag football to raise money for charity. Traditionally it is the Juniors against the Seniors. However, this year, it was quite different. Unfortunately, junior girls participated in this event like years prior. With having such a low amount of juniors sign up things were done differently. Instead of cancelling it, the administration decided to mix the seniors and juniors. That’s right, seniors and juniors would play alongside one another in a game of Blue Vs White. Practices were held two weeks prior to the big game to get the girls prepared. Friendships were made, strategies were created, excitement was building up. Wednesday, September 29th, Dude Squad kicked off the morning with a gathering over the student center chanting and dancing getting everyone ready for the game. As the game time approached the bleachers were getting filled and the players warmed up. During the first quarter, the blue team started with their offense and just three minutes later scored the first touchdown. The white team tried catching up during the second quarter, but unfortunately the blue team came back with another touchdown. Reaching half time, the score was 12-0. While the teams took their time to catch their breaths and strategize, administrators took the time to not only announce the 2021 Homecoming court, but also to honor the seniors in all the Fall sports and clubs. Accompanied with outstanding performances by the students in Cheer, Poms, and Dude Squad getting everybody more excited for the game. The whistle blew for the third quarter of the game, the score not changing for the first few minutes. But down to the last two minutes, white team came back and scored a touchdown, now 12-6. Was the white team making a breakthrough? Unfortunately, it came down to the last second of the fourth quarter, and the blue team made yet another touchdown, leaving the score at 20-6. The white team tried their best, but the blue team took home the win.
