Joliet Central is ready to cheer on the Girls’ Flag Football teams. Blue and Gold Night, hosted on August 23rd, was a fun night from 4:30 to 6:30 pm consisting of the Varsity Boys Soccer team up first kicking it off playing a scrimmage game, then the Varsity Girls Flag Football scrimmage. Amazing cheer and dance performance breaks were included and ended with the Varsity Boys’ Football scrimmage. These games took place at the Joliet Central Steelman Stadium. It’s a night where these amazing sports get to give a view into the energy, the power, the wins, they are bringing into their season for JTHS. The same way staff and students give the teams a sneak-peak into the energy and ambiance they are bringing to their games. It’s thanks to the staff and students who made Blue and Gold Night happen and made it a great time. In previous years, Blue and Gold Night has always been a night full of Steelmen spirit where people can go and support the teams, enjoy the concessions, and have fun socializing in a school environment. Focusing on the insight of the varsity Girls’ flag football scrimmage game, they did not come to scrimmage they came to win! One girl took a hard hit and tumble, but she got up like a champion. These girls are strong and competitive, ready to make touchdowns. The crowd was alive and active, rooting on and clapping for every girl as their names were announced across the line. They formed on the field like a line of soldiers ready for battle, raising a hand and making themselves known to the crowd, friends and family cheering and applauding for their player. The crowd was cheering and ooo-ing in the intense moments watching attentively as the time on the scoreboard seemed to tick in heads every passing minute watching as the girls went at it making crazy moves across the field.
