The game that made everyone question how well they played– Joliet Central vs. Plainfield East. The Central Boys Soccer team played with intense defense and strikers. It was a lost Central took, but they played amazingly. The game took place on September 19, with it being very intense, having a score of 0-0 in the first half, and the second half being 1-0. Central had gotten scored on by Plainfield East at the very last minute due to a penalty. It was a very good game that made a lot of people jump from their seats and others were very upset.  The penalty kick led to many mixed emotions from those in the crowd, either cheering or showing displeasure depending on the team. The penalty kick was scored by Juan Pablo, also known as JP, from Plainfield East. He scored a very lucky goal that led to Plainfield East taking home the win. Coming from an unnamed player from Central, he thought the game was very sloppy at first and they weren’t achieving good passes, and a lack of control but overall the second half was better because they had more shots on the goalie. He also commented they could have played better and they were also close to scoring and winning the game but they were not focused enough. The coach had a long talk with them, but Central did a great job with a good defense helping the team from not getting scored on. The coach from Plainfield East also had a talk with his athletes but it was to congratulate them for their win. Both schools played really well, with notable defense from both teams. Even though Joliet Central did lose they still put in a lot of effort and tried very hard. Both teams tried and both put in an effort with the score being 1-0. The next game was on October 3rd against Romeoville at their home turf, which was an exciting moment.
