Fall sports are arriving soon in October through December, with many sports having their games near Joliet Central. Around October and November, students have the option of trying out for a sport or activity they wish to participate in. When fall arrives, sports are having competition against other schools, with students needing to pass their classes in order to still remain in their sports teams. Those interested are free to reach out to coaches expressing their interests. Once you have joined a specific sport, it is possible there is practice every single day. Boys’ Soccer and Flag Football games are some of the sports in season, with this year having the first ever Flag Football team. Cross Country teams have races on Saturdays, with coaches for Cross Country being Coach Halusek and Coach Cherry. Boys’ Soccer and Cross Country currently hold a good winning streak for their games. Madison King, a junior at Joliet Central High School, got 1st place in Cross Country. On September 28, 2024, the coaches had already announced the winners for Cross Country. A medal had been awarded to Madison King. On October 3, 2024, a Volleyball game will arrive soon going up against Oswego East High School at 4:30 pm. A freshman cross-country team member, Gabriella Reyes from Joliet Central High School said, “We practice every day in Channahon or Oak Park”. The Joliet Township High School District website lists all the games on the calendar. Sports members can possibly enter varsity. In order to join varsity, they can be a junior or senior; or they must prove they are determined to be in varsity.
