Our Joliet Central cheerleaders have made it into state. After a long season they were qualified to go into state bound after winning Mascoutah Sectionals 2nd place. On February 7, 2025 they made their way to Grossinger Motor Arena in Bloomington where they were going to be competing. Both the Varsity and the JV teams attended, with JV providing support to cheer them on. The varsity team consists of seniors Anahi Antonio, Jasmine Jimenez, Lesly Villarruel, junior Jamaria Holmes, sophomores Caesar Arciniega, Ashly Denson, Alfonso Duenez, and Johan Rodrigues, and freshmen Chloe Donaldson, Raul Hernandez, and Tremane Mackins. After 5 years of not qualifying for IHSA state finals this 2025 year was a win and their hard work paid off. So they were one of the teams that got elected to go, making their school proud. This achievement could potentially make the new upcoming cheerleaders work hard as a team to accomplish many more goals and achievements. After hearing Coach Roubissof’s opinions on this, this is what she stated “I felt very proud of the team’s hard work and dedication to building the cheerleading program at Joliet Central. The team has shown so much improvement this season, so it was rewarding to see their hard work pay off”. Expressing herself on how proud she is of the team and how far it has come. So after all the hard work and corrections given at practice paid off, it was truly exciting to see Varsity succeed and get 2nd place at sectionals.
